In an audio service… The Arab thinker Ali Muhammad Al-Shurafa Al-Hammadi writes: The Quran alone is God’s covenant and the scale of faith between monotheism and partisanship

God made the Holy Quran the true standard and the sole reference for guiding humanity, and belief in the Quran is the foundation of this religion.

Since God revealed the Holy Quran, He made it the true standard and the sole reference for guiding mankind, and He made the unity of faith the foundation of this religion, and He stipulated that whoever believes in God must abide by His covenant and not place an intermediary between himself and the Book of God. Nor should it establish a parallel religion or an organization that rivals the authority of divine revelation. Islam, as revealed by God, is one religion that does not accept division, partisanship, or fragmentation. The divine message came clear, decisive, and unambiguous, directed to the mind and conscience to protect humanity from deviation and misguidance

God has drawn a clear red line by rejecting sects and organizations, as He commanded in His words: “And hold fast, all of you, to the rope of God, and do not be divided”

Holding fast to the rope of God means adhering to the Quran alone, not to the schools of thought, sects, groups, or parties established by humans in the name of religion

Anyone who establishes an Islamic party or group with its own jurisprudence and rulings has made himself a legislator besides God, broken his covenant with God, and violated His explicit command, which God stipulated for every Muslim as an eternal principle that admits no interpretation or compromise

God has clearly established this covenant in His words

(The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in God and His angels and His books and His messengers. And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.”) [Al-Baqarah 2:285]

This verse represents the covenant of faith and the oath of obedience that a Muslim pledges before God. Whoever breaks this oath and fails to uphold his covenant has nullified his commitment, violated his faith, and disobeyed God’s condition for Islam. God did not leave the definition of a Muslim open to whims, but rather defined it definitively in His words: “O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve. Those who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.” (Az-Zukhruf 68-69)

Belief in God’s verses is a condition for accepting Islam. Whoever does not believe in the Quran with complete faith and make it their sole reference, their worship and deeds will not be accepted, no matter how numerous, because God does not accept a deficient religion or conditional obedience

As He, the Exalted, said: “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” (Quran 3:85)

After the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the balance was disrupted, the Quran was abandoned and excluded from people’s lives, and history did not record a genuine collective commitment to God’s covenant in applying His verses in word and deed. Rather, Islam was hijacked by preachers, interpreters, and narrators who replaced the Book of God with myths and fabricated hadiths. God warned against this path, saying, “Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.” (Al-A’raf 3) But they disobeyed God’s command and turned religion into a business and a source of power, allying themselves with their desires. They extinguished the light of reason and enslaved minds in the name of sanctity, while God addresses those with understanding, not blind followers. God Almighty said

(This is) a blessed Book which We have sent down to you, so that they may ponder its verses and that those of understanding may take heed. (Quran 38:29) And God described the state of those who divided the religion, saying

This is a clear divine warning to Muslims against falling into organizational polytheism and religious partisanship, which leads to the unwitting abandonment of the Quran and guides its followers to the path of Satan while they delude themselves into thinking they are on the right path. And He, the Exalted, said: “And the Messenger said, ‘O my Lord, indeed my people have treated this Quran as something to be abandoned.'” (Al-Furqan 30) For more than fourteen centuries, the nation has been living through this abandonment and paying the price with hardship in this world and disgrace in the Hereafter, as God said

(And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a life of hardship, and We will raise him up on the Day of Resurrection blind.) [Ta-Ha 124]

God did not leave people without proof or excuse. He revealed His Book, clear, complete, and preserved, and made salvation conditional upon clinging to Him alone, not to anything else. Whoever desires safety on the Day of Judgment must return to the original covenant, the covenant of the Quran, and renounce all allegiance to any sect, school of thought, sheikh, or organization, and stand before God as a pure monotheist, associating nothing with the Book of God.

Salvation is not found in names, affiliations, or the abundance of rituals, but rather in sincere faith in God’s verses and following them as they were revealed. Whoever deviates from this has chosen their own path. (So whoever wills, let him believe; and whoever wills, let him disbelieve.) [Al-Kahf 29] And God does not wrong anyone, but most people do not understand.
