Cyprus and Palestine problems as well as the current situation in the region were the issues discussed between House President Yiannakis Omirou and the Ambassadors of eight Arab countries (Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, UAE, Libya).
The Ambassadors were received today by House President at the House of Representatives.
According to an official press release, Omirou referred to the longstanding friendly relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the Arab nation based on common principles and values and expressed gratitude for the support of Arab states to the struggle of Cypriots.
He also reiterated the position of the House of Representatives regarding the Palestinian problem, “for a peaceful settlement through dialogue and on the basis of the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions”.
On behalf of the Ambassadors, Rector of the Council of Ambassadors of Arab States stressed the historic relations between Cyprus and the Arab world and reiterated Arab states` support towards the just struggle of the people of Cyprus.
